Wanda Potts, Therapeutic Activities Specialist, North Ridge

Wanda has dedicated her creative talents to the residents at Dobie since 1979!  She has a 4-year degree in Medical Technology and can usually be found on Memory Lane and Blue Lagoon with our North Ridge Memory Care community.

Meghan Bachelder, BS, CTRS, Therapeutic Activities Specialist, North Ridge

Meghan has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from CMU and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  She is also certified in CPR/AED Professional Rescue and completed her lifeguard and first aid training.  She has worked at Dobie since 2007 and chose her field because she enjoys working with people and having fun!   “I love working at Dobie Road because of the people and we are always changing!”

Lindsey Hemming, MT-BC, Music Therapist, North Ridge

Lindsey has a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Music Therapy and has been at Dobie since 2011.  She is certified in CPR/AED Professional Rescue and has also completed her lifeguard and first aid training.  Lindsey can usually be found inspiring our North Ridge residents to sing, clap or tap to the music and loves Therapeutic Activities because it gives her the opportunity to get to know the residents in a variety of different ways, especially through music.  “I love Dobie Road because we are always working to serve our residents and community better.”

Bryan Miller, BA, Therapeutic Activities Specialist, North Ridge

Bryan graduated with his Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation from CMU.  He has worked in his chosen field for over 15 years in a variety of settings, such as community based recreation with the developmentally disabled and children.  Bryan has been a part of Team Dobie since 2011 and enjoys working in Therapeutic Activities.  “This facility is the best environment I have ever worked at, providing loving and involving daily activities for those we serve.”

Mary Stokes, RN, Therapeutic Activities Specialist, North Ridge

Mary has her 3 year associates degree from Lake Superior State University and has been at Dobie since 2013.  Mary has worked in the field of nursing for over 35 years and loves the interaction with residents and the capability to make a difference in their lives.  “Dobie has a great work environment with great employees.”

Meg Shoup, BA, Art Specialist, North Ridge & South Ridge

Meg, our therapeutic activities art specialist, has a solid background in public and non-profit Art Education Programming, great connections with the local art community, and a passion for art and its transformative, life enriching power.  She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University and primarily works in drawing and painting for her personal art; she also has a wide variety of art media and processes.  Her resourcefulness, energy and professionalism serve our residents well!

Angie McConnaughey, Therapeutic Activities Specialist, South Ridge

Associate’s degree in Gerontology and has worked in her field for over 15 years.  She’s been with Dobie since 2002 and is certified in CPR/AED Professional Rescue and also completed her lifeguard and first aid training.  Angie enjoys Therapeutic Activities because every day is different and she gets to work closely with residents.  “Dobie Road is the best!”

Marcy Jerome, BS, CTRS, Therapeutic Activities Specialist, South Ridge

Marcy earned a Bachelor of Science degree from CMU and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  She has been a part of Team Dobie since 2013 and is certified in CPR/AED Professional Rescue and also completed her lifeguard and first aid training.  Marcy loves coming up with new ideas and being able to learn about the people she works with.  “I love the people here.  Being able to do the programming that we have here at Dobie Road is incredible.  I couldn’t have found a better team to work with or better people to serve!”

Marissa Kells, MT-BC, Music Therapist

Marissa received her masters degree in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University and has been at Dobie since 2015.  She loves seeing the healing power of music work with the elderly in memory recall, assistive relaxation, socialization benefits, and recreational enjoyment.  She enjoys specifically working with the elders at Dobie Road in her sing along groups and instrument exploration groups on South Ridge.  Marissa loves hearing stories from residents about how music has positively impacted their lives and the lives of their families.  She also enjoys her one on one sessions with individuals where she can really get to know them through playing/singing together and working on music projects.  Marissa is also a part of Dobie Road’s comfort care program and feels that her work with individuals on the program is very rewarding.  “Making residents smile has to be one of my favorite things about my job.  At Dobie Road, I feel like we are all family.  I am honored to be a part of a team that works to provide the best care for our residents.”
